European Music Awards

I travelled with MTV (Music Television) New Zealand to Munich Germany where I worked as an assistant producer and cameraman for 4 days to help produce a “Get Made” episode (about me) and a behind the scenes look at the European Music Awards. I filmed around 80 percent of the footage including an interview with the Foo Fighters and Snoop Dogg’s dress rehearsal. The shows are being broadcast on MTV.
The brief story.
Our trip would cover two television shows. “Get Made”, the show based around my experience was to be made during my involvement in the production of the MTV European Music Awards behind the scenes in Germany television show. I ended up filming around 80 percent of the show which was awesome as I got maximum hands on experience.
Awoke at seven thirty at the Tulip Inn, Domac Strassen (street) Schwabing. Had a shower and met up with Jay and Adam in the breakfast lounge where we ate nice food and discussed the day. Got a taxi to Olympic Park (the venue) and attained our gold passes. We then hung round the press room until we were picked up by Stephan, our talent manager and fellow Kiwi. From there we went up the Olympic tower and filmed panoramic and intros for the show.
Back to the Tulip Inn to get changed into our nice clothes in preparation for the EMA’s. Watched the show and did a final piece to camera for both shows then zoomed off to the after party in a taxi. The after party was AWESOME! There was an open bar, free cigarettes, (I don’t smoke but woah!) 3 dance areas and it was all in an aircraft hangar! Danced till 5.30am then grabbed a taxi back to the hotel and packed and left. A kind lady in Munich airport helped us get checked in and then the long flight home was underway.
That sums up the trip but what I got from it can not be explained.
